Birthday Cards for July

Hi there, thank you for stopping by again. I really appreciate the time that you take to come have a look at things I have been doing crafty. In my previous post, I mentioned that its just been crazy around here. I did do my cards to send out to the Birthday Girls this month. I had them made in plenty of time too, however, I only posted them on Monday of this week so there will be a couple late this month. I lost these cards then found them and then couldnt understand why I was short one so I made another to make up the numbers.

Here is the first style that I was sure I had made enough of:

July Birthday Card

After stamping the image from the reason the smile set all over the Naturals Ivory cardstock, I then masked the daisies and stamped the large image from the Creative elements set and spritzed. I then removed the masked and proceeded to colour with water colour crayons and an aqua pen. After all the blending was done, I then painted over the flowers again with Shimmer Paint (Champagne). There is Always Artichoke denim ribbon over some So Saffron ribbon too.

I then put them away quite pleased with myself that they were done. I lost them under the rubble on my desk and then found that I was one short when getting them into their envelopes, I could have sworn I had made enough.

I will be honest I didnt want to make another one, but I didnt want one to miss out due to me and my absent mind. So here is Version 2:

Second Card for July.

Its the same only ‘different’. It was the first time I had used my Adorning Accents Edgelets and Embossing Folders.

I love these cards that I made for the girls whose birthdays are in July. I hope you enjoy them as much as I loved making them. Just a little side note, while packing up some bits to go out to the local “crafty shed” morning, I found the cards, it seems I took 2 of them to show the ladies and hadnt put them back after I came home. hmmm I now have 2 spares.

A “Reason to Smile”

Hi Fellow Crafters,

Thanx for stopping by. Have you seen the latest promotion for June from Stampin’ Up! ? If not its to die for such a soft and subtle stamp set that you can either choose to get for free!! See here how, or you can purchase the set on its own. Its a limited edition so you only have until the end of the month to have this stamp set in your possession. Just click on the above link for more information about the stamp set and getting in contact with me for an order before the end of June.

Now onto a couple of samples that I have made up today and I actually got the inspiration from an old quilt that my mother in law had given to me a long time ago. The kids had dragged it out the other night to snuggle into and watch some television. Here is the old quilt:

Inspiration from an old Quilt

Its mainly the colours in this that have influenced me more than anything so here is a card I came up with:

Reason to Smile – Dream

With all the products on offer at Stampin’ Up, its amazing sometimes to find that there is just that one thing you want that they haven’t got. I wanted Very Vanilla Ink for my “Dream” sentiment. I finally decided to try direct to stamping with our Water colour crayons not bad for a first attempt.

Now onto my second card for the day.

Reason to Smile – 4 You

I am loving working with this stamp set and will make a few more sample cards today. So come back over the next couple of days to see what else I have come up with but for now enjoy. Please leave me some feedback as I am hoping I am on the right track with these couple of samples.

Thank you for stopping by and take care
