A Birthday Collection

I missed the Sunny Challenge this week!!! Only by a couple of hours but I still missed it.

I am still posting this anyway. A friend of mine had her birthday just recently so I made her a few little bits to go with her card. Here is the card that I would have entered in the Challenge had I been a bit quicker:

Birthday Card

I really enjoyed making this card. Here are the rest of the little things I made:

Just a small wee notebook.

A treat:

Chocolate Box

I had to try my new die out this week.

I am sure my friend will love this when she receives it.

I have a lot of things happening at the moment and I am endeavouring to get through them and post up each time. I may have to schedule some of these posts.

On Sunday I am participating in the ESAD – Autumn Winter Mini Blog Hop. Come back and see what I have come up with for my part. We are all showcasing products that you will be able to purchase on 1st April.

Take care for now and …….

A Truckload of Challenge

Hi and thank you for stopping by.

I have been very, very busy creating and most of my creations are for suprises, so I cant show you just yet. I have been feeling a little flat this week after being so busy last week. The challenge set by the girls from the Sunny Challenges and Creations Team this week was very helpful in getting me out of the lackluster mood I have been in for the last 2 days.

So here is my entry:

Happy Dirtday

I really dont use this stamp set enough. This is from “I Dig You”. Its such a cute stamp set for all those males in your life!!  My husband and his mates, who all work in earthmoving or mining, love the cards I with this set, as much or in some cases more so then the little boys. Well you know what they say about boys and their toys. The boys get bigger and the toys get bigger.

I also dont use a lot of the brights colour family so I challenged myself to use them in this challenge.

Sorry its a quick post today but I am back to the craft table for some more creations, which I hope to show you later in the week.

Until then

Exciting News

Hi there Stampers!!

I have had the most wonderful week creating and enjoying my preorder that came Tuesday afternoon. That is exciting in itself and one of the many perks to being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. At the moment from now until the end of March you can join too, for a reduced price and also an extra stamp set is yours too should you wish to join the family. Have a look here for more information.

I joined Stampin’ Up! on the 26th of May 2009. Just this last week, I signed up my first recruit! I am so excited and so is my new recruit! I hope we have a wonderful time together in our endeavours.

My friend Shirley, from Stamping Elephants sent me this gorgeous card to congratulate me on my first ever recruit.

A congratulations card I received from Shirley McAvoy this week

Thank You so much Shirley I really appreciate it.

Just a quick post for now and thank you for stopping by. Be sure to pop over and have a look at the wonderful creations Shirley makes at Stamping Elephants, just click on the link above.

Birthday Card

Hello and thank you for stopping by. I have been quite busy making birthday cards, I had fallen a little behind with a group I am fond of visiting and just caught up. I decided to use the Birthday card I made for the Sunny Challenge this week for the girls I missed sending to in January.  You can see this card in my post A Spicey Challenge.

Next is for the “February” Birthday Girls. I just love all the Sale a Bration items on offer. My absolute favourite is the Everyday Enchantment papers, however I do love the 2 vintage stamp sets that I got in my box of goodies this week.

February Birthday Card

Back to my basics so to speak with stamping and sponging.  The stamp set is Elementary Elegance and teams so well with the papers. I also learnt this week how to use the “Framed Tulips” embossing folder to make a frame any size. There are quite a few how to videos on You Tube . I sponged Soft Suede around the edges to soften them all.

Finally after all that catch up, I was able to focus on a creation for March. Again, I couldn’t really pass up the opportunity to use those wonderful papers again!

March Birthday Card

I also used the Fun Flowers Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Very Vintage Wheel and an Antique Brad. Again sponging the edges with Soft Suede softens the look and gives an “old world” vintage feel to the card.

If you are in the Birthday Fairies group on ESAD and your birthday was in any of these months, you should be stalking your postie now.

I am now off to play with my new toys that I received in my order this week. I must say the new mini catalogue, which is available from the first of April, is awesome one of the best yet. Lots more ‘vintage’ type stamps and I will be creating with these and posting some sneak peaks of projects over the next few weeks.

Thank you once again for stopping by.

A Spicey Challenge

Hi and Thank you for stopping by again. I have had such a busy week since my last post. Here it is Tuesday afternoon and I am posting my take on the Sunny Challenge for this week. I am not a big embellishment person really, pushing those boundaries again thank you girls, here is what I came up with:

My Spicey Challenge Card

I used the Spice Cake DSP which is only going to be around until the end of March. I love this DSP!  Just to push me a little harder, I thought I would try River Rock a colour I rarely use. I am wondering why not now. I have also been meaning to get around to trying the folded flower and I am really happy with the result. I even managed to find a button to put in the centre. I love working in the Neutrals family but gave the sentiment a punch with coordinating Pear Pizzaz.

While I had the paper out, I made a much needed birthday book for myself to keep up with all the cards for birthdays I am making. Yes I made something for me to use and I love it. Its quite plain but the paper helps to pop it. I also used my new dies “Timeless Type Junior Alphabet”, one of my best buys, how did I ever do without it? I jazzed the spine of the book up with the “Spiced Paisley” stamp set too. Without any further ado, here is MY birthday book.

A Spicey Birthday Book for Me!!

I am so happy with how both projects turned out.

Come back later in the week to see what I have made to send to my friends whose Birthdays are in March.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I love all the feedback from all the lovely wonderful comments and thank you for this too. Until next time………

Easter Mini Milk Cartons and Flowers

Hi, thank you again for stopping by for a peak. This week, I have been focusing on getting some items ready for Easter markets. First off what is Easter without flowers a symbol of new life. I made these after seeing some in various places on the internet. I looked closer at the pictures and discovered that most were made with mini Chupa Chups, I only had the big ones. Here are the flowers that I made up and I have them displayed on my colander at the moment and probably will take this to the market as I think they look very nice displayed like this.

Chupa Chup Flowers

I think they are so adorable and would love to just take one and start eating it, but they are too nice to unwrap. Here is another view

Overhead view of the flowers again

I also made these adorable Mini Milk Cartons, they are stuffed full of chocolatey Easter goodness.

Easter Mini Milk Cartons Galore

I used the Vellum Cardstock as the vellum paper was really too thin to run through the embossing folders

Another view of the Easter Mini Milk Cartons

I think they are so cute, I took more pictures so here is another one

Vellum Easter Mini Milk Cartons

I hope you enjoyed looking at these ideas for Easter. I know I enjoyed making them, although very hard to fill those milk cartons up once I opened the bag of Easter Eggs!!

Thank you again for stopping by.
