Mini Albums

Hi, welcome back and thank you again for stopping by for a peep.

Today, I thought I post up some Mini Albums that I have been selling at the markets for over 12 months now. They make lovely gifts for everyone. A great way to capture a couple of important events and record them in the mini album and post off to family. I have sent a couple to my family members and they love them and its like a little brag book that they can take with them to show their friends. Before I go too much further, I must not take credit for this idea, my friend Shirley from Stamping Elephants showed me this idea probably nearly 2 years ago now and its funny as I have only really had them on my market stall for about 5 or 6 months. Thank you Shirley for showing me this great idea. You should pop over to her blog as she does some of the most wonderful things.

Mini Album - Storytime DSP

Mini Album – Storytime DSP

This is the most recent one and I thought it would be good for those back to school or first school days photos that we all get and lovely to pass onto grandparents so they dont miss out on all the fun. There is plenty of room inside for photos and journalling and I have coordinated the pages inside with the DSP.

Here are another couple:

Blueberry Crush - DSP

These 2 were made with retired Designer Series Paper from Stampin Up. I had quite a few papers left and made them into these albums. I must say they do look great.

I have another couple here as well:

and last but not least one made with some of last years In – Colour, Blushing Bride and the special DSP that went with those in- colours.

Blushing Bride – Butterflies

I must say they do look great and are selling at times really well. They make great gifts.

Thank you for stopping by for a look and be sure to have a look at my friend Shirley’s Blog. She really does do some awesome stuff.

Take care

Tea Light Candle Holders

Hi fellow crafters. Its Monday morning here and I must admit its a little hard to get moving or even poke my nose out the front door.!  Yes it appears to be raining again and lots of it! Plenty of time to do more crafting.  This is a good thing as I like to have a big variety at the Handmade Market Expo in Morayfield this Sunday. If it hasnt rained too much it should be a good day especially with it all being indoors the weather will not hurt us at all unless its too much rain.

There has been a lot of rain recently and with rain and humidity and warmth, its perfect for mosquitoes. I have the tea light candles with the citronella in them and they are amazingly like a lot of our gorgeous colours:

I like to have my candles as visible as possible so therefore I have made some holders for them. I made them using Aluminium in the Big Shot using the Flower Folds Bigz Die. The smaller of the 2 flowers has then been run through my Petals Aplenty Embossing Folder. Here is another:

This one is Daffodil Delight or close to it (no I didnt colour them myself) in the bottom right hand corner you can see Pretty in Pink candle. Here is another:

Tealight Candle Holder - Riding Hood Red

Here is one that is similar in colour to Riding Hood Red. And a group shot ready to go for the Market this weekend. I hope they go a treat.

I love the way when the die cuts the aluminium that it neatly rolls the edges, therefore there is no risk to cutting fingers. Once that candle is finished, its just simple to put another in the centre.

Thank you once again for stopping by and looking at my blog.

take care

Fabric Covered Notebooks

Hi all and welcome back!

I am so glad you could stop by for another look around.

This time I have some fabric covered notebooks I want to share, some have been made out of fabric gifted to me while others have been made using various Stampin’ Up! Designer Fabric.

Orchard Harvest

Orchard Harvest

This one I have used the coordinating stamp set with the fabric and stamped on calico after I had run the piece through the small scallop square duo die. I have then sewn this piece onto the front but have used some fabric adhesive behind so it wouldnt move while I was sewing. Our luscious new stamp pads allow for fabric stamping, although I wouldnt recommend this if you were washing it all the time.

I had pieces of fabric left over from a quilt I have been making (pics soon) and it was great how this red blended so well with this fabric. Again the red piece was affixed using the iron on fabric adhesive the flower is cut with the Big Shot and the Fun Flowers Die. All of the notebook covers are padded.

Spice Cake

Spice Cake

Here is one with the Spice Cake Fabric and the butterflies were made with our lovely Butterfly die using the Bigshot. Showing how versatile both our Big Shot machine and the dies really are. As I am not very proficient at sewing yet, I have chosen to sew the butterflies down through the middle rather than trying to follow the outline. People really like them at the markets and a few I have given away this Christmas for gifts.

Another post another day. So many pictures to share with you so a few at a time. Until next time….

Flowers and Butterflies

Hi there and thank you for stopping by. Happy Mother’s Day to you all.

I have a very early start this morning as I going to do the markets at the Bongaree Jetty this mornng. Just thought I would show you a couple of things that will be on my stall. First of all the Chupa Chup Flowers, these are very popular and a great way to use up that stash of card stock and printed papers.

Flower Box

These flowers are made with the new Blossom Punch with the petals cut and also the Flower Folds Bigz Die for the Big Shot. I think they look awesome and they are very popular at the markets.

Now onto something completely new for my stall this week.

Butterfly Lip Balm Holder – Pool Party

These I made using the Beautiful Butterflies Die and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die. It has been really lucky that Avon has had specials on their lip balms the last couple of campaigns and that they coordinate so well with our cardstock and this is also another way to get rid of the off cuts or left over card stock. Here is another:

Butterfly Lip Balm Holder – Real Red

Just another one close up to show you and a few together in the next picture.

A few of the Butterfly Lip Balm Holders together

I sure hope they do well at the markets.

Thats it for now. I hope you all have a great Mother’s Day.

Window Card Challenge

Hi and I must apologise profusely on my lack of posts.

I have been quite ill with a chest infection and I now and quietly thinking that after almost 2 rounds of antibiotics I am starting to feel better. Today also marks 4 weeks since I smoked my last cigarette. I am sure some of the unwellness I have been feeling can be contributed to this but no where near all. I have a repeat of the last antibiotics so going to get them made up and really knock this bug on the head.

So last week was my last week on the Design Team at Sunny Challenges and Creations and the challenge was to put a window in the front of the card. Again first I must apologise to Kris, Vicky and Gwen as this card was not up to my usual standards. However, here it is in all its glory.

SC 037 - 12 Window Card Challenge

Now I am not happy with this as its too flat, if I were to do this again, it would have sponging around the edges and dimensionals to give the card some depth. Maybe I am being too picky, I am moving on.

I have also been participating in a Secret Sister group on Facebook and I made this window card for her. I am sure that she should receive this in the post today or no later than tomorrow!! As its the reveal card I have no problem with posting this here, made later last week when I was feeling a little better.

Window Card - April Reveal

No I wasnt drunk, I just took a crooked photo and had already posted it off last week before looking at the photos. Oh by the way I left the camera on too. Lucky it goes to sleep on its own or I would have had no battery!!

I used some of the Twitterpated Designer Fabric a bit left over from the final reveal gift. I just love this pleated ribbon, its just so luxurious dont you think?

I also hadnt been near my sewing machine for a little while so I cased a gift I received from my secret sister and made a final little gift for my secret sister.

Desk Caddy Corner.

This is using the Large Scallop Square Die and the lovely, gorgeous Twitterpated Designer Fabric. I have just used some “pellen” (I think that is what its called) between the layers of fabric to ‘stiffen’ the walls a bit, so it stands up on its own. Here is another view of one side. Where I appliqued a Beautiful Wings Butterfly out of the inner fabric just to see if I could machine applique around corners. It turned out ok for a first go (I have only appliqued in straight lines before this).

Front of the Desk Caddy.

I love how this turned out and I am sure my Secret Sister will be thrilled with her final reveal gift.

I will be posting more this week as there is a new challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations this week and I am itching to have a go.

However, I have 6 desk caddy’s cut out ready to sew up so they are ready for the markets. They would make lovely gifts for Mother’s Day which is coming up very shortly now. I also am making some little gift tags that I will be bagging up with a sweet topper on them to sell. They will be quite generic so they can be used all year round but also would make a nice last minute gift for someone else.

Off I go to sew now.

Thank you for being so patient and I hope you dont have to wait so long for my next post. Until then..
